Cocktail hat project, 2011

In early 2011 we worked with milliner Sean Barret on designing and making our own cocktail hats.

My hat was based on the style of the 1940s, focusing on the elegance of simplicity.

Part of the task was having the hat photographed in a suitable setting. I tried to convey this by making the pictures look as if they might have been taken as headshots of a 1940s actress.

I modelled the hat on 3 different people.
